Greece

The bright colours of this woven rug I made remind me of the traditional colours of Greece that I have only known (as I have never visited) in picture books and from the photos of my sister’s many holidays to the islands. The key design is typically greek, the yellow reflects the sky and the teal blue the sea. Yarn has been crocheted into long strands that have then been sewn onto jute backing. I call it a rug but it would look just as good hanging on a wall.
