About WoollyArt

Founded in Sowerby amongst the stunning scenery of West Yorkshire, its green valleys, big skies, heritage mills and sheep. It began as a new adventure after 37 years in Education.

WoollyArt has its beginnings in the natural world. It is a tactile, vibrant snapshot of a memory of place. It does not attempt to represent reality, but creates an idea of that natural space.

My WoollyArt is made using the spinning, weaving and dyeing processes I taught myself when working from raw fleeces to dyed yarns and woven textiles. What I create endeavours in some small way to conserve the resources of our beautiful planet by only using handmade, recycled and salvaged materials.

WoollyArt is shared with others at the WoollyArt Club community group I founded and by taking my skills and WoollyArt workshops further afield. It is sold through exhibitions, craft fairs, commissions and on-line.
